Schneider Children’s Medical Center welcomed the Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel, Mr. Yevgeny Kornichuk, who was accompanied by Mr. Michael Brodsky, Ambassador of Israel to Ukraine.
During the visit, the guests met with Dr. Efrat Bron-Harlev, CEO of Schneider Children’s, who told them about the assistance that the hospital has granted children from Ukraine. Two weeks ago, a team from Schneider Children’s flew on a special rescue mission to the border between Romania and Ukraine in order to accompany 10 children with complex conditions on a flight back to Israel. Among those who arrived were children needing dialysis and treatment for cancer. In addition, a few days ago, a 9-member team from Schneider Children’s comprising 4 doctors and 5 nurses joined a mission sent by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health to set up a field hospital in Ukraine where they will supervise the children’s section.
The ambassadors visited the hospitalized Ukrainian children and expressed much excitement and satisfaction for the huge contribution made by Schneider Children’s in the devoted care of the patients.
Dr. Harlev said that “we were very pleased and happy to receive Ukrainian children for treatment at Schneider Children’s. The hospital’s staff feel a moral responsibility to help all children wherever they are and make every effort to respond to their physical and emotional needs alike. We are honored to assist in every way possible, whether in Israel or as part of the mission now at the field hospital in Ukraine, and we pray for better days.”
