Six months ago, Nadav was rushed to Schneider Children’s in a very serious condition after being injured in the terror attack in Ra’anana.

For ten days he was sedated and ventilated after suffering a multi-system injury to his head, spine, and lower limbs.

He was hospitalized in the intensive care unit. Dr. Eitan Kaplan, a senior physician in the unit said: “Nadav was the wounded man who required the most attention during the attack”. He underwent spinal surgery and very intensive treatments in the unit. We spent long days fighting for his life . “When Nadav woke up they discovered that he had lost the ability to speak due to damage to the  vocal cords. Dr. Yoram Stern, senior physician in the E.N.T clinic, performed complex surgery that gave back Nadav’s ability to speak. “The thing that surprised us all is that immediately after surgery, while still recovering, Nadav was able to speak. It was a very exciting and emotional moment for me
and the entire team .”

Today, six months after and against all odds, Nadav is on a rehabilitation trip at the Levinstein Medical Center, taking steps with a walker and spending most of his time in the wheelchair playing basketball. All of us here at Schneider Children’s wish him a full and speedy recovery.
